Hi, I am a Fodmap suffer, which of course includes gluten
Do you recommend initially to trying to keep predominately to a gluten free diet and use Gluteguard when social situations make it difficult?
If Gluteguard helps, then could I try it with gluten products?
Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Ann
Dear Ann, Thanks for your queries.
While there is no evidence to suggest that GluteGuard affects fructose intolerance, GluteGuard’s active ingredient, Carica papaya (fruit oleoresin dry), is rich in caricain, a natural enzyme that has been demonstrated to break down gluten. As a helpful adjunct to a gluten-free diet, GluteGuard is formulated to break down small amounts of gluten inadvertently ingested, that may be hidden in the diet or appear in a meal through cross-contamination. The recommended adult dosage is one GluteGuard tablet with a meal or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner. GluteGuard should not replace a gluten-free diet.
Kind Regards,
The Glutagen Team
I have just received my Gluteguard and want to know if it is now safe to eat some food with gluten in it as long as I take a tablet beforehand? I have very moderate to mild wheat sensitivity. I can eat oats and rye with no problems. Eating gluten tends to make me feel very tired and also can make my gut feel a bit uncomfortable. I also seem to retain fluid when I have inadvertently eaten some gluten. Any advice would be welcome as I would love to be able to occasionally eat foods containing gluten.
Dear Thea, thanks so much for posting. It is recommended that one GluteGuard tablet be taken with a meal or as recommended by your healthcare professional. GluteGuard tablets are formulated to break down small amounts of gluten that may be contained in a meal. Please note that GluteGuard is a helpful adjunct to a gluten-free diet and not a replacement for a gluten-free diet or meal. It is is intended to help alleviate symptoms from gluten ingestion, especially in situations where you may not be in control of food preparation or where gluten may be inadvertently ingested (e.g. cross-contamination). We hope this helps. The Glutagen Team.
Hi, could you please clarify.
Do you need to take GluteGuard everyday or just when you think you had ingested gluten inadvertently, or for example you go to a party and would like to try something that contains gluten?
Hi Marcella, thanks for your question. As a helpful adjunct to a gluten-free diet, GluteGuard tablets are formulated to break down small amounts of gluten that may be contained in a meal. In this way, GluteGuard may help alleviate symptoms resulting from gluten indigestion and may be especially helpful in situations where you may not be in control of food preparation or when gluten may inadvertently be ingested (e.g. cross-contamination). Meal content is an individual choice, although please note that GluteGuard is not a replacement for a gluten-free diet. It is recommended that one GluteGuard tablet be taken with a meal or as recommended by your healthcare professional. We hope this is helpful. Regards, The Glutagen Team.
Hi, I have just tried Gluteguard for the first time today. I had a slice of bread (not gf) to see how my body would react and so far all has been fine. I am very excited by the initial non reaction it has only been about 2 hours but so far so good I am very impressed. I will post further comments if there is any further reaction or non reaction as I am sure like me many coeliac and gluten I tolerate people will be keen to see what other people think and how they react. Although I believe reactions will probably differ from person to person?
Dear Marcia, Thanks for your comment, we are pleased to hear that GluteGluard is working for you and appreciate your feedback. As you said, each person react to gluten in a different way and therefore we recommend GluteGuard as helpful adjunct to a gluten-free diet and not a replacement to it. Please keep us updated about your experience!
Also would you mind posting your comment in the reviews section of the product? https://glutagen.com/product/gluteguard/
Hi guys!
I’m going to purchase gluteguard this week and am very excited, but also skeptical until it works for me.
I’m pretty heavily intolerant to gluten so if this actually works it will change my life!
How would I go about using gluteguard so I can drink beers?
I understand the recommended dosage is one pill with a gluten containing meal….but how would this work for beer/s?
I understand some beers, for example coopers pale ale, would contain much more gluten than say a budweiser, which is really low in gluten as it’s a rice beer.
The idea of being able to eat burritos and pizza etc is exciting, but what really has me keen is the possibility of being able to enjoy a frosty cold beer again!
I’m gonna go to a doctor and ask this but thought I’d see what you have to say 🙂
Thanks so much!
Thanks for your question! First of all, GluteGuard is designed to be a supplement- it is the perfect partner for a gluten-free diet. Using a patented enzyme action, it is intended to break down the small amounts of gluten – including contamination found in some ‘gluten-free’ meals. GluteGuard should not replace a gluten-free diet. It is definitely a great idea to talk to your healthcare professional to see if our product is right for you.

I am in the same boat as Cory, if i were to attempt to drink a non gf beer, and was hoping the Gluteguard tablet would allow me to do so with no discomfort afterwards, what would be your suggested method? How long should i wait to drink the beer after taking the pill? I understand its not necessarily the design intentions, and it may not work, but its worth a try.
Hi there,
Thank you for your query about GluteGuard- we’ve received quite a few questions about beer as you can imagine!
GluteGuard has successfully helped many people prevent the symptoms of accidental gluten ingestion, but is not intended to be a replacement for the gluten-free diet. Therefore, we cannot recommend any sort of departure from your gluten-free diet when using GluteGuard.
.
As for usage instructions, GluteGuard is intended to be taken with a meal and digested along with the food. The enzyme activity is released when the special coating is dissolved in the gut after passing intact through the stomach. It is therefore designed to be taken either just before the meal or with the first mouthful of food. If you are eating a meal over a longer period of time than one hour and are concerned that there might be gluten contamination, it may be prudent to consider taking another tablet after an hour. Additionally, use should not exceed more than four tablets per day.
Feel free to email us if you have anymore questions or feedback.
Kind Regards

Hey,
im in that really troubled sector, so cross contamination or glutenfree 20ppm is also a problem.
I cannot drink gluten free beer even, only if its natural gluten free.
This option is very rare to get hold of. Usual the produsers use an enzyme to remove gluten and ensure its under 20ppm.
There this pill maybe will work for me.
I will try it at home first, cause an reaction will not kill me. Its just really discomforting.
Therefor i wonder how this liquid works, and hope you can answer me as best you can.
Usually i have some food in my stumach before starting to drink.
But can i just pop another pill after one hour and continue drink? Or will the liquid reach the small intestines before the pill then and therefore not be fully broken down anyways ?
And will the enzymes from the pill stay in the intestine for a long time ?
So i can pop the pill, and wait 10minutes before getting another beer to ensure the pill has reached the small intestines?
Regards Tommy
Hi Tommy
Thank-you for your comment on our website.
First of all, please remember that GluteGuard is intended to be an adjunct to the gluten-free diet, not a replacement.
Our standard dosage recommendations are that you take 1 GluteGuard tablet immediately before a meal- this is based on normal times for food to pass through the stomach and duodenum. If you are eating a meal over a longer period of time than 1 hour and are concerned that there may be gluten contamination, it may be prudent to consider taking another tablet after an hour.
Your daily dose should not exceed 4 tablets per day.
Unfortunately I cannot definitively say that the tablet would work effectively on an empty stomach, as liquid is digested faster than solid foods. If you are having a gluten-free beer with dinner, taking the tablet immediately before the meal would likely be the most effective means of alleviating the symptoms of gluten intolerance.
Please consult your healthcare professional as to whether GluteGuard is right for you.
Feel free to email us if you have any more questions!
Hi.
I was diagnosed celiac 18 years ago and as the years go by am very allergic to even white& malt vinegars. In 2018 I heard about glutegard. I phoned the company and the guy I spoke with was really helpful and straight up about this product. I have used these many times before eating out( when I thought I might be at risk) and also after when I had symptoms( cramps) etc They are ABSOLUTELY amazing saved my sanity & healh & alleviated my symptoms. These are NOT a Green light for eating gluten but to counteract the symptoms and damage small amounts ingested unknowingly. I highly recommend them.
